Just more than a year ago, Samsung launched Samsung Pay and joined the mobile wallet race. On that  rst day, consumers registered some 10,000 credit and debit cards with Samsung Pay, which since then has handled approximately100 million unique transactions. Despite that success, Samsung Pay faces serious challenges from the likes of Apple Pay, Android Pay and others—and an apparent reluctance of some consumers to embrace mobile wallets. Dan Tuckman, project manager for Samsung Pay, talks about the growth of the mobile wallet, what sets it apart from competitors and what the future holds for the payment technology.

Dan Tuckman: Samsung continues to strategically expand its partnership ecosystem for Samsung Pay to provide greater  exibility, access and choice for customers while enabling an easy
and safe payment experience. Samsung Pay is the only contact- less payment solution that works at over 90 percent of the top 250 retailers and the vast major- ity of merchants, including small, local businesses.
