On the consumer side, Teri Llach, who’s responsible for Blackhawk’s marketing, believes virtual gift cards will get a big boost in the 2015 holi- day season. “Consumers are getting increasingly comfortable with the idea of virtual payments, and we ex- pect to see e-gift growth without a decline in physical gift card pur- chases,” Llach says. “Our research in- dicates that physical and digital gift cards are here to stay—consumers use them for different reasons.”
