The brightest stars in Las Vegas on Feb. 24, 2015, weren’t Celine or Cirque du Soleil acrobats—they were the Best-in-Category
and Industry Achievement winners in the 2015 Paybefore Awards.
In its ninth year, Paybefore Awards is the longest-running and most prestigious industry awards for prepaid and emerging payments.
The fight for the top spot in each of 26 cate- gories was intense, with formidable programs and companies from the U.S., Japan, U.K., Turkey, Italy, Canada and Thailand competing.
“This year’s competition demonstrates
the global nature of prepaid and emerging payments. Cross-border payments came up big across several categories as did virtual solutions for B2B payments,” said Loraine DeBonis, Paybefore editor-in-chief and chair of the judging panel. “We also saw the most feature-rich, pro-consumer products in the history of Paybefore Awards. We know pay- ments and financial services are challenging businesses with a complex regulatory environ- ment, but our winners consistently make it look easy for clients and end users.”
The Best-in-Category results were
tallied from the votes of three outside judges—Lori Breitzke, E&S Consulting; Rob Rosenblatt, R2 Payments Associates; Michael Mueller, angel investor and co- founder of paysafecard—as well as DeBonis and Paybefore CEO Marilyn Bochicchio. For the third year, Paybefore invited visitors from Paybefore.com to weigh in on Best in Category in Sixth Judge voting. Participation shattered past records, with a remarkable tally
of more than 21,200 votes, which supported the judges or swayed the
final outcome in 16 categories.
“It is extremely difficult to win a Paybefore Award because the level of competition has been elevated to a very high standard,” said Bochicchio. “Each winner should be viewed as an industry leader and proud
of its accomplishments.”
